The basics

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find it here? Our team answers every message.

Is FictionCraft free to use?

Yes. Every imprint has a deep library of free craft and publishing guides. Paid membership adds templates, workbooks, and the full self-publishing toolkit.

Which imprint should I start with?

Start with the genre you actually write. Romance and dark romance writers start with Romance; fantasy-forward love stories start with Romantasy; comfort fiction starts with Cozy Fantasy.

Do you help with self-publishing?

Yes — the Self-Publishing imprint covers editing, cover design, formatting, pricing, distribution, launches, and advertising with real numbers.

Are your guides useful for traditionally published authors?

Absolutely. Craft, genre expectations, and reader psychology apply either way; only the business chapters are indie-specific.

Do you offer editing or manuscript critique?

We don’t edit manuscripts in-house, but our vetted-professionals guide explains how to hire well and what fair rates look like.

How often are guides updated?

Publishing changes fast. Store, pricing, and advertising guides are reviewed quarterly; craft guides are revised whenever the advice needs sharpening.

Can I share guides with my writing group?

Please do — link freely. Just don’t republish full text or paid templates.

How do I cancel a membership?

One click in your account settings, any time. Access runs to the end of the paid period and there are no exit emails to fight through.
